300 Days of Sun seeks original poetry, prose, creative non-fiction, art, and photography from authors and artists living in the Southwest (Nevada, California, Arizona, New Mexico & Utah). Send us something smart and well-planned, or something clever and spontaneous. Surprise us. Although we seek authors from the southwest, we want to avoid its clichés (e.g. kokopelli and lone cacti), and while we love work that is passionate, we are not looking for anything overly sentimental.

Submission Guidelines:

  • We accept original, unpublished work in English.
  • Simultaneous submissions are allowed, but we ask to be informed immediately if a work is accepted elsewhere.
  • Authors own the rights to their works, although 300 Days of Sun assumes first-time publication rights.
  • All contributors with accepted works will receive a copy of the issue in which they appear.

Poems:  1-4 poems, no more than 1000 words. We prefer poems that are no longer than two pages.

Prose and Creative Non-Fiction: We accept fiction, flash-fiction, micro-fiction, and creative non-fiction. While we prefer works under 2000 words, we will consider works up to 3500 words.

Hybrid Forms: We accept hybrid writing, such as prose poetry or works that combine image and text.

Art and Photography: Up to 2 images, submitted at 300 dpi or greater.
